Blank if the post does not show it.

From the hire rate: 14 posted at 50% is 7.

You (optional)

Checks the job's rate against yours.

Fill in what the job post shows and press Score. Leave anything you cannot see blank — a blank is left out of the score, not counted against the job.

How to read the score

  • 70 and up (strong). The client looks real and active, and the job is not already crowded. Worth a careful, specific proposal.
  • 45 to 69 (fair). Something is off — read the red and amber rules. Often it is a crowded job or a quiet client, and a fast, sharp proposal can still win it.
  • Below 45 (weak). Usually an unverified client, no hiring history, or a job with dozens of proposals and interviews already going. Keep your Connects.

Questions

What does the score look at?

The client's payment method, how much they have spent, how often they hire, their rating, how recently they were active, how many Connects the job costs, how long ago it was posted, how many proposals and interviews it already has, and whether the rate fits yours. Each rule shows what it saw and what it contributed.

Why does a blank field not lower the score?

A brand-new client has no hire rate and no reviews. Counting that against them would turn the score into a measure of how long the client has been on Upwork rather than whether the job is any good. Anything you leave blank is left out of the score.

Why is a job with an unverified payment method capped at 40?

An unverified payment method is not missing information, it is a fact about the client, and it is the clearest sign a job may never pay. However good the rest looks, the score cannot go above 40 until the client verifies.

Is this the same score BidGrow uses?

Yes. It is the same rules the app runs on every job it reads for you. In the app it also checks your own rules, like the countries you prefer, and it runs automatically on every new job.
