BidGrow helps freelancers and agencies decide which Upwork jobs to bid on and drafts the proposal. This page explains what the BidGrow web app and the BidGrow Chrome extension collect, why, and who it is shared with. BidGrow is not affiliated with or endorsed by Upwork.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and a hashed password, or your Google account’s name and email if you sign in with Google. If you create or join an organization, its name and your role in it.
- Your Upwork profile, when you import it: the text of your own Upwork profile page — title, overview, skills, rate, work history — read from the page by the extension, so proposals can be written in your voice.
- Job postings you look at or that match your criteria: the posting’s title, description, budget, screening questions, required Connects, and the client information Upwork shows on the posting (country, spend, hire rate, rating, reviews). The extension reads these from Upwork pages open in your browser; BidGrow’s own server also reads public postings through Upwork’s official API to send you matching jobs.
- Your proposals: the proposals and screening answers BidGrow drafts for you, which template wrote them, and — when you submit on Upwork — that you submitted and the proposal’s later status, read from your Upwork proposals list so you can see which templates get replies.
- Your settings: templates, watch criteria and alert preferences.
- Usage and billing: how many proposals and test runs you generate, for plan limits, and your subscription status from our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
Visits to our public pages — the home page, guides, templates, free tools, sign-in and sign-up — are measured with Google Analytics: which page, where the visit came from, and the device and approximate location your browser reports. Pages inside your account (jobs, proposals, templates, settings) are never sent to Google Analytics.
The extension only runs on upwork.com and on BidGrow itself. It does not read other sites, your browsing history, or Upwork messages, and it never submits a proposal for you — you always press send.
How we use it
- To score jobs against your criteria and draft proposals and screening answers.
- To email you jobs that match your profile, if you turn email alerts on.
- To show you which proposals and templates work, and to enforce plan limits.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of you for anyone else. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Who we share it with
Only with the processors that run parts of the service for us:
- OpenAI — job postings, your profile and your template are sent to generate proposals and to parse your profile. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
- Google Cloud — hosting and the database (India region).
- Resend — sends job alert and account emails.
- Dodo Payments — takes payments and manages subscriptions.
- Google — if you choose to sign in with Google; and Google Analytics, for visits to our public pages only (see above). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser; you can block them with your browser settings or Google’s opt-out add-on without affecting BidGrow.
We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Your data is stored in BidGrow’s database on Google Cloud. The extension keeps your session and a small cache in your browser’s extension storage. We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, or ask us to, we delete your profile, jobs, proposals, templates and settings; billing records we are required to keep are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your choices
- Turn email alerts off at any time in Watch criteria.
- Remove the extension at any time from Chrome; it stops reading Upwork immediately.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion — use the contact options inside the BidGrow app.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. See also the terms of service.
