How much do Upwork Connects cost?
Connects cost $0.15 each and are sold in bundles. You need a verified billing method to buy them, even if you pay from your Upwork balance.
When do I get Connects back?
The client cancels the job before a contract is made (not when the post expires). Upwork removes the job for violating its Terms of Service. You do not get them back when the client declines your proposal, the client hires someone else, the job expires without a hire, you withdraw your proposal.
How do I spend fewer Connects for the same work?
Bid on fewer, better jobs. Most wasted Connects go on jobs that were never going to hire you: unverified clients, posts with 50+ proposals, or clients who have not been active for weeks. Score a job before you bid and skip the weak ones.
